More Vintage Pattern Fun

I know it has been a little quiet around here this week.  I took a couple of days "off" after the passing of our golden retriever last week, I just wasn't in the mood to sew but I am back at it now.  I picked up this vintage swimsuit pattern a few weeks ago and was anxious to work on it.  When I made this valentine dress a couple of weeks ago I knew I wanted to use the cute pinwheel fabric on a romper!  This pattern is too small for Moppet but I really wanted to try this pattern out.

This is the pattern, adorable right?

and my version...

I love the details in vintage patterns.  This one has a "cuff" along the upper edge of the bodice, I think it would be cute in contrasting fabric.

It zips up the back, I might try buttons next time.

and it is fully lined!  The pattern suggested lining it with wool if you can imagine!  Well, it is from 1957 and was meant to be a swimsuit right? I opted for cotton.

It ties behind the neck..

Isn't it darling?

My little model loved it!

Karaoke anyone?

Now, hurry up spring!

  19. What a great vintage pattern! And even more darling made in real life!

It's kind of funny they added a zipper into a swimsuit to me...sometimes vintage patterns make me laugh. I think I ADORE it as a romper!
